FAQs: Bachata Group Classes
Do I need prior dance experience to join your bachata group classes?
No, you do not need any experience to join our bachata dance classes. Even if it’s your first time trying dance and you feel you have “no rhythm,” we will work hard to make sure that you feel confident and capable in our bachata class.
What do you teach in your intermediate bachata dance lessons?
We teach quite a few things in our intermediate bachata dance classes, including body movement, more advanced partner combinations, body rolls and ladies’ styling, and more. Each intermediate bachata lesson is different based on the instructor and what was taught in the previous lesson, and we ensure that students always learn something new.
What do I wear to a bachata group class?
We recommend that our students wear whatever they feel most comfortable in to our group bachata classes. Students arrive in workout clothes, business casual, fancy dress, and everything in between. There is no dress code – just make sure your shoes are comfortable.
Can I book private Bachata lessons in Orange County?
Yes, many dance studios in Orange County offer private Bachata lessons. Private lessons provide personalized attention and are a great option for those looking to accelerate their learning. You can learn about our private bachata lessons here.
Are there any Bachata festivals or competitions in Orange County?
Orange County hosts various Bachata festivals and competitions throughout the year. Stay updated on local dance events and festivals to participate or attend as a spectator.
Do you teach the same thing in every bachata class?
No, we pay attention to the students who are present and consider what they’ve learned before to create a class that always offers something new and fun. There is a degree of repetition – that’s how you practice and reinforce what you’ve learned – but you will learn something new in every class.
How do I know if I should be in an intermediate or a beginner bachata class?
If you’re unsure about which class you should be in, we’re happy to chat with you, evaluate your skills, and help you decide.
What’s better for me to learn – salsa or bachata?
There is no “better” style, and we encourage our students to take both classes if they feel up to it! However, bachata is widely regarded as a “technically easier” style, so if you’re unsure, we recommend that you start there. To learn more about our salsa classes, click here.
How do I choose the right Bachata class for me?
Consider your skill level, class schedules, and the teaching style of the instructors. Read reviews and testimonials from other students to get an idea of the class atmosphere and quality.
Do I need a dance partner for Bachata classes?
While having a dance partner can enhance your experience, it’s not necessary. Many classes rotate partners during the session, allowing you to dance with different people and improve your overall skills.
